The Disqualified Round Towers of Ireland

Quilty (Co. Clare) – visited 5 August 1999

The 19th century parish church of Quilty, West Clare, at the N67, about two miles south-west of Milltown Malbay, has a round bell tower inspired by a round tower. It is much too small and is attached to the nave of the church. This tower is one of the less convincing copies of a round tower.
