The Disqualified Round Towers of Ireland

Dunlewy (Co. Donegal) – visited 10 August 1999

This tower, placed in a beautiful site in the North of Donegal, is part of the new church of Dunlewy, which was built after the closure of the old church at Poisoned Glen. It was said that the old church was haunted. Like the church the walls are clad in black and white marble. The Tower is probably built after a genuine round tower, but it hardly can be taken as a serious reproduction of a round tower. (fl)
